Out With the Stitches, in With the Strips

Here is Drew with his stitches out. We went in this morning. It was quite the ordeal. They started out with 2 nurses in there to take them out and ended up with 2 nurses, 2 paramedics and a Doctor. They had a hard time getting them out. Plus, the cut split open a bit after the stitches were out. So, now he has sterry strips on. Hopefully these will stay on for 4-5 days and it will heal together. They said he will have quite the scar and that his head will be fragile for the next few months. Any bump to that area could split the wound open again. I guess I will have to wrap 18 layers of gauze around his skull for the next 3 months. Trying to avoid him hitting his head will be next to impossible since it is a daily event for him.

Oh, poor kid. It looks a lot better

I think my kids bump their heads at least 30 times a day. Maybe you should get him a helmet until it heals =)

A helmet was another idea I had! LOL Or padding all the door handles in the house.

Do you remember when Tony was that age? He constantly had a bump on his forehead! But, wow, this is going to be challenging.
