Preschool Graduation

Monday was Drew's last day of preschool.  He has done so well in school this year and really had a good time.  His teachers said he really matured over the year.  They still claim that he is one of the quietest ones in the classroom.  He is very shy, but has come out of his shell a bit over the year.  His best friend is a boy named Corbin and that is the only one Drew talks about.  He really loved both his teachers and they were awesome.  It was the same teachers that Brodie had last year.

Tuesday was preschool graduation.  The kids came out and sang 3 songs.  The pictures don't show it but Drew really did a good job singing.
He even did the actions to the songs.  He looks sad in this picture but he was just really "stiff" throughout the entire concert.  He was pretty shy going up in front of all the people.

Once the concert was over the teachers handed out their diplomas.  He was pretty excited.  Once all the diplomas were handed out we enjoyed ice cream sundaes.

It's hard to believe that he will be in Kindergarten.  It was hard letting him go to preschool but Kindergarten will be really tough.  He seems to be really excited to go.  It will help alot that Brodie will be at the same school and they will ride the bus together.

Beauty Sleep

Please don't mention to Drew that I posted this on here.  He really was embarrassed when Daddy showed him this picture and he screamed to "not put that on the blog!!"  But...how could I not?  He is so funny.  I got this sleep mask for Mother's Day (will be perfect for those migraine days) and he really wanted to try it out the other night.  He fell asleep in our bed wearing it.

Our Weekend

I love our weekends, well except for when there is bickering, fighting, whining, crying, but I guess that is all part of being a parent and just plain human.  We had a very full and enjoyable weekend. Will took Friday off and I started off the morning hitting some garage sales.  Mid morning we headed up to Brodie's school to watch his field day.  From 9:45-11:15 the Kindergarten and First graders rotated through different stations outside.  The kids had a blast and it was nice for Will and I to chat with some of the other parents we knew.

After Brodie's events we headed back out to hit up some more garage sales.  It was fun having Daddy spend the day with us.  Once we got home, Will spent the remainder of the day smoking meat for my oldest nieces graduation party the following day.  Right now I am drawing a blank as to what I did the rest of the day.

Saturday morning was spent working a little around the house and pulling smoked pork.  Early afternoon we headed to my sisters house for the party.  We had a nice time and ended up leaving about an hour later after a few meltdowns from Emily.  It was her nap time so she wasn't in the best of moods.

Saturday afternoon I got in a little nap and then Will, myself and the younger 3 children headed to the park.  Will and the boys rode their bikes and me and Emmy played on the playground.  Saturday night we popped popcorn and finally watched the 3rd Back to the Future.  We have been watching the trilogy with the boys and they have loved it!

Sunday was nice and relaxing, well in my opinion it was (smile).  In the morning we did housework.  We turned on the radio and everyone helped out around the house.  At noon we headed up the street to attend my nephews First Communion party.  Once we got home, the boys went outside to play, Will and Jake went for a bike ride and Emily took a nap.  I took advantage of the quiet and got some projects done around the house.  Mainly sorting and storing all the winter clothes I have picked up the last couple weeks at garage sales.  I have done so well!!

This afternoon I mowed the lawn, messed with the chickens, picked strawberries from the garden, and just plain enjoyed the beautiful evening.  We ended the weekend with a surprise trip to Dairy Queen for ice cream.

The kids are all in bed and I am getting ready to write my to-do list for the week.  This is yet another busy week, but when isn't it?  This is the last week of school for the kids.  I can't believe summer break is almost here.

Stop and Smell the Flowers

Yes.  I painted her nails.  Momma was painting her nails yesterday and Emily offered me her hand so what's a mom to do?  Doesn't she look so pretty?
Just look at the flowers Emmy.  Don't touch, just look.  Aren't they pretty?  Smell the flowers Emily.  Don't they smell pretty?
No.  No, don't eat the flowers.  Yuck.  Just smell them.
Emily, don't touch the flowers.  Just smell the pretty flowers.  Smell the flowers Emily, don't touch.  Just because you turn your back to me doesn't mean you can touch the flowers.   Just smell the flowers.
EMILY.  No Emily.  Don't pull on the flowers.  Emily Joy.
Thank you Emily.  But we don't pull up the flowered plants.  Just smell the flowers.

Braces

Tony got braces about a week ago and so far things have been going pretty well for him.  I haven't heard a whole lot of complaining and he seems to be doing ok with the brushing after meals.  He got to pick his colors.  This time he picked black and red.  Each month as long as he gets a good checkup he gets to pick the color of the braces.  Pretty cool.

I had no idea the amount of daily maintenance braces take.  It has definitely been a learning situation for both of us.

Playing Outside

I love this picture of Emily.  She is just so sweet.
These were all taken the other evening when the kids played outside.  Emily loves the swing set.  She splits her time between her little swing to this 2 person swing.  She loves to swing by herself but always welcomes anyone who decides to join her.

Big brother Brodie.
Here is her little bike.  She usually stands behind it and pushes it up and down the neighbors driveway.  The boys and her cousins  frequently take turns pushing her while she's sitting on it.

And sometimes she just likes to show off how strong she is and carries it around.
