Drew is feeling much better. His ears got so bad that they were both draining nonstop and it was so thick it was hard to get his drops in. Finally the doctor decided to put him on oral antibiotic and within 24 hours we could see a difference. He has slept through the night 2 nights in a row now! Whew. What a difference that makes. I can't believe how bad they were. And to think all that stayed in his ears before he had his tubes, no wonder his ear drums burst 5 times! Poor guy.

Yesterday was cold and rainy so most of our activities were inside. We briefly went outside while we grilled dinner but it was so cold! The weather is definitely Fall now.

We had another great Family night. We decorated Halloween sugar cookies and watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. We were going to watch Casper but Brodie was a little scared of that so we are saving that for a big kid night.

Antibiotics may be a "quick fix" now, but be prepared for years of recurrent ear infections, a weakened immune system, and more medicines, because of your use of all of these antibiotics in your dear children at such a young age now. Actually, the non-stop drainage from the ears is probably the result of the antibiotics u used with him before.

Not trying to be rude, just saying be prepared is all. You'll see what happens in the future...

If the poor child didn't have an overload of vaxes which contain toxins, and then antibiotics, he probably never would have had ear trouble in the first place, and never would have had to get tubes in the first place, saving him a lot of pain and discomfort. Look into it.

Children who don't have toxins from the overload of vaccines and medicines pumped into them are much healthier overall, and their immune systems are stronger, and they live healthier lives into adulthood. Look into it seriously if u even care. Look at the statisitics.

But that's ok... let's just continue this epidemic in America of ignorance and chronic sicknesses in our children that is getting worse.

Not to start another debate as I read happened before but since I know the blogger personally and I assume "anonymous" does not, I would like to say a couple of things.

First, until you have walked a mile in someone elses shoes please refrain from judging them for the choices they make regarding their children. We all do what we feel is best for our kids and trust our instincts. Sara is a wonderful mother and she has put her trust in her doctors to help keep her children safe and healthy in the best way she possibly can. As we all do.

Secondly, no one invited you here to get on your soapbox and blast away at the choices she has made. If you are so concerned about this issue surely you can find a better forum for doing this in a way that you can make a difference without being so hurtful and disrespectful.

Hi everyone,
Please check out my friend's blogpost:

I have a 5 year old who has never been vaxed and has never had antibiotics.

In his 5 years, he's never been seriously sick. Just a few colds here and there, (a total of only 7 colds in 5 years!)but they only usually lasted about a week and a half or so. Very mild. I call them the "building the immune system colds".

Compare that to today where most babies/kids are getting anywhere from 6-10 colds, sinus infections, or ear infections a year. (I'm not even going to get into the # of neurological disorders that have increased).

My child is a perfect example of health, and he hasn't had any toxins (oops I mean vaccines or antibiotics). When are people going to wake up???? When???

Like I said, look at the stats.
You owe it to your child who is actually the true sufferer here!

I think it's time we all get off of our "no questioning" soapbox and actually do some research for our children's sake!

Sara, you are a wonderful mother. I strive to be as creative, warm-hearted and caring mother as you are. I'm glad you put this kind of information up on your blog so that I can "keep up with the Figgins" as they say. But I do feel badly that, in doing so, you - and all of us bloggers - have unintentionally invited others to lecture and preach their version of right and wrong to us. And as I have learned from experience, ignoring and moderating these people does not make the unwanted, unappreciated and unremarkable comments stop. So please don't let all of this bother you. Go on being the amazing mother you are. Your kids are so lucky to have you - and so is your husband. But then again, he's pretty great too. Take care and I'll see you soon!

Sara - Stefany is right! The people who know and love you know you are a terrific mom who provides awesome experiences for her kids. Those boys will have great memories of their childhoods. You've made all the right decisions, medically, for your family ... based on advice from your doctors. Don't let strangers come in here and lecture you about something qualified professionals have advised you about. We love you and all your boys!!!

We are all just trying to save the babies/children of the world, one blogger at a time.

Hey guys, I don't think the poster was saying that Sara is a bad mom, I think what they were trying to get at was: let's all do some research for ourselves.

If vaccines are so safe, why does the U.S. government have a special program that uses your and my tax money to compensate families whose children have been injured or KILLED by them? (This is real, it's called VAERS - the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System). And why is our government protecting a private entity such as the billion dollar pharmaceutical companies that manufacture these drugs?

I think the issue is that more and more people are questioning (as they should) the things that this society has come to consider standard.. and finding fault in them. Like vaccination. It has a large following both for and against. ( The majority of ) People who choose not to vaccinate their children are not going into that decision blindly. There is a lot of research done, compare and contrast benefits, decision making.. it is a process.

Can the same be said of the majority of those that choost TO vaccinate? To assume people are just lazy and don't vaccinate is, in itself, taking the "easy" way out of the discussion. For every report filed stating the benefits of vaccination, one can be located stating the risks.

Many people feel that the risks outweigh the benefits. I tend to feel that people who are doing good research and making their decision based on that research, no matter what the decision ( for or against) are all doing the right thing. It is those persons who blindly make decisions regarding their children that are the issue.. they do it because someone told them to or because they have always heard of it being done.

I think, every time, an informed decision beats an uninformed one.. and if a parent has made a decision concerning their child that is based on research and fact.. then no matter what that decision is, it is to be respected.

But let's not just blindly do something because we're told to do it. Let's do some research.

I just want to reiterate what anonymous, Stefany, and Sara P. have said. Sara, the owner of this blog, is a wonderful mom. She has 4 beautiful kids and she makes the right choices for them everyday.

The attacks on her choices as a mom need to stop. She said she was thinking of closing her blog to strangers and that is just sad because she is a great mom, with tons of ideas that other parents could benefit from.

There is an appropriate forum for those who are INTERESTED in naturalistic, vaccineless parenting but for those of us that just want to support our good friend and are tired of your ranting and raving- please post elsewhere.

I assume the anonymous people who have come in here and spouted aff about vaccines and antibiotics are using Google Alerts or some other mechanism to track down the words "antibiotics" and "vaccines" in peoples' blogs. Honestly, if you feel like the way you've gone about this is going to create concrete change in our society, I would say that you are wrong. Your approach, whether you mean it to be or not, comes across as an attack. That means you'll always be faced with a defense instead of a "thanks for the good information." I'd say a better idea for you would be to try to create change or cause awareness through different means, rather than "one blogger at a time." Try going to your congresspeople, medical organizations, your OWN blogs, etc. And refine your approach so it's not heard as an attack. Don't assume that because we as moms have our kids vaccinated and use antibiotics that we haven't done the research. Trust me, I've researched. I've weighed the pros and cons for my child, and I choose what I choose for him based on the medical advice and research I've done. Because my choices aren't yours doesn't mean my choices are wrong, and I bet the other moms here who know Sara would agree for her. Move on, please, to another Web space. Please find another way to present your message.
