Looks Like We've Got Ourselves a Biter

I know all kids go through a biting phase. But the last week or two the two little boys have really been on a biting frenzy. It is really starting to get on my nerves! I guess I better keep the boo boo bags cold.

Any suggestions on the issue?

Indoor Bowling

When it is cold outside and you are tired of being stuck in the house, why not break out a game of bowling? All you need is 2 liter bottles and a ball and let the fun begin!

Update~

Drew is healing nicely. Today the stitches started to bother him periodically. He really has done a great job not messing with them. He did touch them a few times today and told me to "get them off". It was hard telling him that I couldn't.

Not Starting the Weekend So Well

The little boys are finally over being sick. We were having a pretty good morning until Drew ran into the door knob in the hallway and split his head open. I heard him hit and he ran to me holding his head. I scooped him up not knowing how bad it was until I felt wetness running down my neck. It was not pretty.

I called my Pediatrician and they told me to take him to the Pediatric clinic that was near my house. I got Brodie loaded up to go to my Dad and step Moms and called Will to meet me there at the clinic. Once we got there they said it was way too deep and we needed to go to the ER. So, we headed there and 11 stitches and a hole lot of screaming later this is how he looks.
Remarkably it looks really great. You could actually see his bone, that is how deep the cut was. Sorry if that is too much detail for some of you! They ended up putting 2 stitches on the inside and 9 on the outside. Even after some Versed and Tylenol with Codeine he still put up quite a fight which resulted in Will and a Paramedic holding him down. All 3 of them were covered in sweat by the time the whole ordeal was done. Drew fought so much he broke some capillaries in his face and neck. I tried to warn them he was strong.

We go back next Wed. to have the stitches taken out. That should be another traumatic day. This wasn't a very good start to our weekend.

Bug Matching Game

Here is a matching game I put together for the boys. I did it a while ago when we were talking about insects and then we broke it out again last week when we talked about ladybugs. I just found some pictures of insects online and cut and pasted them into a word document. The I printed 2 sets, cut them out and glued them onto notecards.

You could also just print them right onto cardstock. That would save you a step.

~An update on our family. Brodie has finally turned the corner. Drew is still sick. Will and I both have sore thoats and sinus stuff going on. Jake and Tony are the only ones who have been ok. We will keep our fingers crossed that they don't come down with anything.

5 Little Ducks

Yesterday was filled with lots of reading and quiet time.

Drew and Ispent some time at the felt board. One of the kids favorite books is 5 Little Ducks. Before we had the felt board I had made cardstock ducks that I sticky tacked to the wall and used. Recently I made some felt ducks. They really like these. Here is the link to the template I used to make the ducks. And if you don't have the book, here is the words to the story.

A New Month, A New Week

I can't believe it is March. That makes me so happy because we are one step closer to Spring, nicer weather, playing outside, gardening. I am sad that it is Monday and Will is back at work and the older boys back at school.

It was a rough weekend. Brodie is still sick. He is a little better but he has been unable to do anything. He is still so week. He has lost 4.5 pounds. We pretty much just cuddled him the entire weekend. I am going to see how he is today and then I might phone in to the doctor. Drew got the sickness on Saturday morning. He has not been near as bad as Brodie but as of last night he was still running a fever around 102. I was feeling a little rough last night so I was in bed at 8:30pm and I am feeling a little better this morning.

Needless to say we didn't do anything this weekend. It was really nice to have a couple lazy days. It just stinks when everyone is sick. Here are a couple pictures I took this weekend. There obviously wasn't very many good photo opts. I thought this one was cute though of all the boys playing Legos. Then here is Jake helping Brodie play a Lego game on the XBox. You can see how sick Brodie looks in this picture. He really wanted to have fun.The weather is suppose to get up into the 50's this week. I am hoping everyone gets better and we can get outside and open up the house to get rid of all the germs! I wanted to start my Spring cleaning this week. I might have to postpone it a few days until everyone is better.
