Drew has a really hard time sleeping in his bed. In the middle of the night he always ends up in bed with Will and I. I know he just wants to be close to us at all times. He is such a mommas boy. The other night while Will and I were watching TV I got up to find this. He was asleep on the train table right behind the couch. Will moved him to his bed where he stayed about 4 hours before joining us in our bed :)

First Dance

Tony went to his first dance last Friday night. Isn't that crazy? What is even more crazy is he had a date! Seems so strange for him to be going to school dances let alone have any kind of interest in going with a girl.

I was a little worried for him, but I didn't need to be. He had a great time and his older brother was there if anything should happen.

Before he left I quickly showed him how to slow dance in case that opportunity came up. When he came home he shared with me that he did indeed slow dance with his date. He was pretty darn excited and I was pretty overwhelmed.

Fun in the Mud

Sometimes you see things like this and you just have to walk away for a bit. This is the type of thing that happens when Dad is home. It started off as a construction site. They dug a hole for a lake and filled it in with water. No biggie.Even at first as the mud started accumulating Brodie wasn't so sure. He really hates to be dirty you know. He even was periodically stopping to wash off his shoes and feet. Drew never has a problem getting dirty.Eventually they both realized mud was indeed fun. Will added another 5 gallons of water to the dirt and things really got messy. They had a blast. Right after I took this picture Drew was laughing so hard he fell down in the mud.Apparently things got alot worse after I went inside. Will neglected to take any more pictures. The funnest part of the whole thing was Drew who said..."I think there is something on my face".
Umm yes, I think so Drew.

I know I have been slacking on my blogging. I seem to have lost all my energy. I figured since I am now into my second trimester maybe I would start feeling that "pregnancy glow". Apparently not yet. I still nap almost daily and am usually in bed by 8:30 or 9. I don't think I was ever this tired with my other pregnancies. I guess maybe I am getting older!

We had a really nice weekend. Friday evening we spent at my brother's house with his family, my sisters family and my mother. We celebrated birthdays and had a really good time being outside. The kids always have a good time with their cousins.

Saturday was a little lazy. I went garage saling in the morning and then came home with a headache and slept for a couple hours. In the afternoon we went on a hike with the 3 younger kids. The weather was perfect and the kids had fun picking up sticks and jumping over mud puddles.Check out this leaf. Can anyone tell me what is on it? I thought it was little cocoons but it is hard to tell. They are completely attached to the leaf. Almost every leaf had some on it. The tree next to it was the same kind of tree and it didn't have any on it. Very strange.Saturday night we ate with my step-brother at Outback. We treated ourselves to a fancy dinner. It was delicious! Sunday we got lots of work done. All of our pets are happy because Will cleaned the newt, cat box and fish aquarium and I (sorta) cleaned out the chicken house. Tony is still in love with the chickens. He likes to sit at the fence and feed them grass and weeds.

I hope all the mother's and grandmother's had a wonderful Mother's Day. I had a great day with my guys. I was spoiled and allowed to sleep in, was made eggs, bacon and cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and then presented with these gifts. The frame is pictures of the kids saying "We love (heart) U". My husband is oh so clever! I love it. I also received roses and my favorite candy...Turtles.It was a great day. We did a little work outside. Will helped me put up the chicken wire along the bottom of the run. The chicks were so glad to get and play in the grass! The spent the entire day outside. We also got some of our herbs planted in our herb garden.

We spent the rest of evening curled up on the couch watching a movie.

Our Week...So Far

Whew this has been a crazy busy week for us and it is only Thursday. Jake has 3 track meets this week and he and Tony have a choir concert tonight. Tuesday night Jake and his team broke their own school record again for the 4x200 meter relay. That was pretty exciting. They have one more meet tomorrow and then they are done for the year.

Today Tony is giving a Power Point presentation on "how to build a birdhouse". Dad and Grandpa Joel helped him work on it last weekend. He did all the preparation himself and even came up with his own design. He did a really great job. The chickens have moved into their new home. The house and run are finally complete! Well, almost. I have to reinforce the bottom of the run with chicken wire because when we came home Tuesday night we found 8 of the 9 birds in the yard. Apparently they can squeeze through the fence. The 9th bird was stuck in the fence and had to be rescued. Thankfully they all stuck together and stayed in our yard when they got out. I got my garden fenced in and it looks really good. I am hoping to plant the rest of the vegetables this weekend. We are suppose to get heavy rain tonight and then it is suppose to be really cold tomorrow night (38 degrees) so I am thinking Saturday after our trip to the Farmer's Market should be a perfect time to plant.

Baby Update

There isn't a whole lot to report. I went to the doctor last week and I got to hear the babies heartbeat. It was 170 bpm. At our ultrasound in March is was 156. I always love hearing the heartbeat.

Things are going well. I am a little over 13 weeks along, starting my second trimester. I have been feeling so much better. I finally have more energy and am getting things done again! That feels pretty good.

The little boys have been asking alot of questions like...

How will the baby get here? Where does it come out? When is it coming? How big is it? Some questions are easier to answer than others!!

The other day at Menards I had the boys with me and the cashier asked "Do you have any sisters?" Brodie's response was "not yet". I thought that was pretty cute. They also have been finding baby toys at garage sales and asking if we can buy them for "our baby". I think they are going to be pretty good big brothers.
The 3 younger boys spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Bryans on Friday night. A long anticipated event for Brodie. For the whole week each morning he woke up, got dressed, put his hat and backpack on and asked if today was the day he got to go to Grandma's house.

Here is the conversation Grandma and Brodie had Saturday morning at the breakfast table.

Grandma: Brodie do you want any little smokies?

Brodie: Yes.

Grandma: How many would you like? (As she says this she scoops out 2 and puts them on his plate.)

Brodie: Well 2, apparently.
