I love our weekends, well except for when there is bickering, fighting, whining, crying, but I guess that is all part of being a parent and just plain human. We had a very full and enjoyable weekend. Will took Friday off and I started off the morning hitting some garage sales. Mid morning we headed up to Brodie's school to watch his field day. From 9:45-11:15 the Kindergarten and First graders rotated through different stations outside. The kids had a blast and it was nice for Will and I to chat with some of the other parents we knew.
After Brodie's events we headed back out to hit up some more garage sales. It was fun having Daddy spend the day with us. Once we got home, Will spent the remainder of the day smoking meat for my oldest nieces graduation party the following day. Right now I am drawing a blank as to what I did the rest of the day.
Saturday morning was spent working a little around the house and pulling smoked pork. Early afternoon we headed to my sisters house for the party. We had a nice time and ended up leaving about an hour later after a few meltdowns from Emily. It was her nap time so she wasn't in the best of moods.
Saturday afternoon I got in a little nap and then Will, myself and the younger 3 children headed to the park. Will and the boys rode their bikes and me and Emmy played on the playground. Saturday night we popped popcorn and finally watched the 3rd Back to the Future. We have been watching the trilogy with the boys and they have loved it!
Sunday was nice and relaxing, well in my opinion it was (smile). In the morning we did housework. We turned on the radio and everyone helped out around the house. At noon we headed up the street to attend my nephews First Communion party. Once we got home, the boys went outside to play, Will and Jake went for a bike ride and Emily took a nap. I took advantage of the quiet and got some projects done around the house. Mainly sorting and storing all the winter clothes I have picked up the last couple weeks at garage sales. I have done so well!!
This afternoon I mowed the lawn, messed with the chickens, picked strawberries from the garden, and just plain enjoyed the beautiful evening. We ended the weekend with a surprise trip to Dairy Queen for ice cream.
The kids are all in bed and I am getting ready to write my to-do list for the week. This is yet another busy week, but when isn't it? This is the last week of school for the kids. I can't believe summer break is almost here.
